According to Bloomberg , the PS5 shortage will not be resolved in the near future – moreover, it has every chance of getting worse.
Sources close to Sony noted that the company hoped to sell 16 million consoles between April 2021 and March 2022, but the figure appears to be 15 million at best.
Due to the complexities associated with the pandemic, logistics have suffered – the components needed for production are not always delivered on time. So Sony partners doubt that the company will be able to sell 22.6 million PS5s in the next financial year.
Earlier, Phil Spencer noted that Microsoft is doing everything possible to reduce the deficit – in particular, organizing production in different places.
