What is Raksha Bandhan?

Raksha bandhan or also in odia language “Gahma Purnima“. It is mainly a Hindu festival celebrated by all Indians. The festival strengthens friendships between the brothers and sisters.

On this day, the sister holds the guard in his hand,wraps a rakhi around her brother’s arm and prays for her bright future. Instead, the brother decides to save/protect his sister from all problems.

The festival is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of sawan, In other states, the sawan Purnima celebrated in a different way.

Raki’s holidays have great significance in order to bring harmony and unite the family. Rakhi represents the love between brothers and sisters, the bond of love they have shared since childhood.
